1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Slow Bread Hawaii. By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read these terms carefully before ordering our products.

2. Cottage Food Operation Notice

IMPORTANT: Cottage Food Operation Disclosure

Slow Bread Hawaii operates as a cottage food operation under Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 328, Part IX. This means our products are made in a home kitchen that has not been inspected by the Hawaii Department of Health.

This product is homemade and is not subject to state inspection.

Our cottage food operation is registered and compliant with all applicable Hawaii cottage food laws. We adhere to safe food handling practices and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and quality.

3. Product Information

All bread products are made from scratch using traditional sourdough methods with natural ingredients. Our products contain wheat flour and may contain other allergens.

Allergen Information: Our products contain wheat (gluten). If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, please contact us before placing an order.

While we strive to provide accurate product descriptions and allergen information, formulations may change. Please contact us directly if you have specific allergen concerns.

4. Orders and Payment

  • All orders must be placed through our website or approved ordering channels
  • Payment is required at the time of order placement unless otherwise arranged
  • We accept payment via Venmo, cash, or other methods as indicated on our website
  • Prices are subject to change without notice, but confirmed orders will honor the price at time of purchase
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion

5. Pickup and Delivery

Pickup: All orders are for pickup only at designated locations and times unless delivery is specifically offered. You will be notified of the pickup location and available pickup times when your order is confirmed.

Timeliness: Please pick up your order during the designated pickup window. Bread is best when fresh, and we cannot guarantee quality for orders not picked up on time.

Unclaimed Orders: Orders not picked up within 24 hours of the designated pickup time may be donated, discarded, or resold at our discretion. No refunds will be issued for unclaimed orders.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

Customer Cancellations: Orders may be cancelled up to 24 hours before the scheduled pickup date for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before pickup are not eligible for refund as production has already begun.

Our Cancellations: In rare cases, we may need to cancel an order due to ingredient availability, equipment failure, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, you will receive a full refund.

Quality Issues: If you are not satisfied with the quality of your bread, please contact us within 24 hours of pickup. We will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include a refund or replacement.

7. Storage and Food Safety

Proper Storage: For best quality and safety, store bread in a cool, dry place. Bread can be stored at room temperature for 2-3 days, refrigerated for up to 1 week, or frozen for up to 3 months.

Perishable Product: Our bread is made without preservatives and is a perishable food product. Once you receive your bread, proper storage and timely consumption are your responsibility.

Disclaimer: We are not responsible for any illness or injury resulting from improper storage, handling, or consumption of our products after they leave our possession.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slow Bread Hawaii, its owners, and operators shall not be liable for:

  • Any allergic reactions or food sensitivities to our products
  • Any illness or injury resulting from consumption of our products
  • Any damages resulting from improper storage or handling after pickup
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your order or use of our products

Our total liability for any claim related to our products shall not exceed the purchase price of the product in question.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including but not limited to text, images, logos, recipes, and design elements, is the property of Slow Bread Hawaii and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content without our express written permission.

10. Privacy and Data Collection

We collect personal information necessary to process your order, including name, email, phone number, and payment information. This information is used solely for order fulfillment and customer communication.

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to process payments or fulfill your order. We maintain reasonable security measures to protect your information.

11. SMS/Text Message Notifications

We offer optional SMS text message notifications for order updates and pickup information. By opting in to receive SMS messages, you agree to receive text notifications at the mobile number you provide.

SMS notifications are optional. You are not required to opt-in to SMS messages to place an order. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies (typically 1-3 messages per order).

12. Website Use and Account Security

If you create an account on our website, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and password. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
